The new AirMauritius A350 being painted
CONNECTING TO THE FUTURE
With the acquisition of two Airbus A350-900 in 2017 on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Air Mauritius has reinforced its leadership and positioning in the Indian Ocean.
The Airbus A350-900, which is the new flagship aircraft of Air Mauritius, is a latest generation aircraft equipped with best in class cabin products namely full flat seats in business class, a roomier and more comfortable economy class cabin, a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system with full HD screen and inflight connectivity in all classes. The aircraft is also equipped with a number of special features including a quieter cabin, an array of mood lighting options and a lower cabin altitude that all contribute to enhancing travel experience and reducing jet lag.
With this acquisition, Air Mauritius becomes the 1st operator in the Indian Ocean (the 2nd operator in Africa).
The introduction of the A350-900, named “Le Morne Brabant”, represents the beginning of a new chapter for Air Mauritius. It is a key for Air Mauritius to offer a unique in-flight experience, demonstrating its move upmarket and also contributing to position the company as the preferred airline to Mauritius.
The A350 XWB brings a new dimension to the experience of air travel from the moment passengers enter this next-generation aircraft, now flying with many airlines worldwide.
This brand new A350 is equipped with Air Mauritius’ latest cabin products including new seats, an all-new inflight entertainment system and, for the first time, inflight connectivity, which, together, will offer an unrivalled level of comfort and convenience to passengers.
The Air Mauritius A350 XWB is a perfect combination of innovative airline product design and intrinsic comfort of the cabin, which is the hallmark of this new aircraft.
Two class cabin configuration with a total of 326 seats:
28 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, Stelia Solstys III seats with 44” pitch featuring fully horizontal lie-flat bed, 17” in-flight entertainment screen, and all seats having direct aisle access.
298 seats in a 3-3-3 configuration, Recaro CL3710 seats with a comfortable 31” and 33’’ pitch, and 11,6’’ in-flight entertainment screen

Full connectivity, especially covering access to internet, will be available for passengers through Wi-Fi and IFE screens.
New features leading to an Xtra flight experience, contributing to passenger comfort and significant reduction of jet lag effect
- The air management systems help passengers to enjoy a more relaxing flight. Total cabin air is renewed every two to three minutes in a draft-free environment at the optimum temperature and with 20% more fresh air.
- Passengers will not only feel the difference, but also see the difference with a full LED ambient lighting. The possibility to choose from 16.7 million colours allows for the creation of individual mood lighting ambiances to foster well-being for
passengers through every phase of their flight. Lighting scenarios, mimicking natural sunrise and sunset help reduce the effects of jet-lag.
- Lower cabin altitude (max 6,000 feet at cruise level vs 8,000 feet in aluminium fuselage aircraft)
- Xtra quiet flights: The A350 XWB offers the quietest twin-aisle cabin in the sky, with four times less noise energy in premium class.
Uniquely comfortable configuration
The widest seats of any jetliner in its category, with generous room in all classes. Comfortable 18” seat width (between armrests) at 9-abreast as standard in comfort Economy.
With no missing windows, passengers selecting a window seat will always benefit from the outside view provided by the larger panoramic windows as well as a fully dark cabin while sleeping.
Personal space is further increased by virtually invisible seat-connect boxes and cables that run entirely under a completely flat floor. The sidewalls are nearly vertical, providing more space at shoulder level to passengers with a window seat.
