Mauritius celebrated at the Hippodrome de Vincennes
Ever since its inception in August 2004, Les Journées de l’île Maurice or ‘Days of Mauritius’ has become an essential tradition on the French horse racing calendar.
This year’s event took place on 12 January at the 60,000 capacity Hippodrome de Vincennes in Paris, warming up the European winter with the colours and spirit of Mauritius.
Air Mauritius, as a founding partner, were once again joined on this special day by racehorse owner Marcel Chaouat – creator of Les Journées de l’île Maurice and president of the Galopathlon Association, alongside thousands of tourists and racegoers who came to watch scheduled races dedicated to the island of Mauritius.
As the national airline, we had the honour of sponsoring the eighth race of the day, the Prix Djerid – Air Mauritius, which was won by the favourite Radipe du Digeon, ridden by jockey Damien Bonne.
